Pasta Carbonara

 

Ingredients

 

100g pasta

1 onion

25g mushrooms

2 rashers bacon

1x 5ml spoon oil

 

Sauce

15g margarine

15g flour

150ml milk

25g cheese

 

Method

1        Half fill a large pan with water, put onto back ring of cooker to boil.

 

2        Chop the onion finely.  Slice the mushrooms.  Snip the bacon.

 

3        Heat the oil gently and add the onion mushrooms and bacon.  Fry gently    for 2 to 3 minutes until cooked BUT NOT BROWN.  Remove from the   pan and drain onto a paper towel on a plate.

 

4        When the water in the large pan is boiling add the pasta cook for 10-12 minutes.  When cooked drain well and pile into the serving dish.

 

5        Put the margarine, flour and milk into a pan place on a medium heat and stir with a balloon whisk until thickened and boiling.  Remove from the heat stir in the cooked onion, mushrooms and bacon and pour over the pasta.  Sprinkle with grated cheese.  Serve
